MINA, reaffirming its commitment to the development and empowerment of small and medium-sized businesses, successfully hosted the SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) Certification Workshop in collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA). This virtual event was designed to address the needs of veteran entrepreneurs with disabilities, providing them with essential information on accessing exclusive federal contracts and navigating the certification process.

The session was led by Shykeya Hopkins, a marketing specialist and NJDO-SDVOSB liaison, who provided a detailed analysis of the SDVOSB certification process. Her presentation covered crucial topics such as the specific benefits of certification, eligibility requirements, and strategies to help veteran-owned businesses stand out in a highly competitive market supported by federal programs.

Participants had the opportunity to engage with our special guest, ask questions, and gain practical tools that will not only help them access contracting opportunities but also develop strategic skills for sustainable business growth. Beyond technical information, this educational space provided inspiration for veteran entrepreneurs, strengthening their leadership and encouraging them to build a lasting business legacy.

The event underscored the importance of reducing access barriers and promoting the inclusion of veteran-led businesses in federal programs. MINA continues to demonstrate its commitment to the success of developing communities by providing innovative resources and training programs that foster equity and business growth.

We encourage all interested parties to stay informed about upcoming workshops and activities organized by MINA, tailored to meet the needs of various business sectors. Updates are available through SBA’s official channels.
