Empowering Young Women in the Business World: Ella Inc. Workshop

In its firm commitment to the community, MINA has established a strategic alliance with Casimiro Global Foundation to develop its Ella Inc. Workshop program, a key initiative supporting young female entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for socio-economic development through business. The local company AID Solutions, led by its founder and president, Ana Ramírez, was responsible for recruiting and selecting participants for the first workshop.

This event marked a historic milestone in South Jersey, as it was the first time since its inception that Ella Inc. Workshop was held in the United States.

About Ella Inc. Workshop

Ella Inc. Workshop is a groundbreaking interdisciplinary learning program designed by Juan Casimiro, founder of Casimiro Global Foundation, to empower young women aged 15 to 19, preparing them as leaders in social impact entrepreneurship. Through this program, participants learn to develop social impact projects that benefit their communities while acquiring key skills to face future challenges.

Program Development

The workshop spans two and a half days of learning, growth, and inspiration, beginning with an orientation session led by Mr. Casimiro. This inaugural edition welcomed parents and guardians of the participants, as well as Mr. Ángel Fuentes, President of the Camden City Council At-Large, who attended the session to show his support for the program.

On the second day, participants had the opportunity to learn about managerial tools and conduct research on the current needs of their communities. The young leaders refined their critical thinking skills, exploring global challenges and solutions to address these issues. Additionally, they attended the "7 Mindsets for Social Impact" conference. After immersing themselves in the world of entrepreneurship, they began the ideation process for their own projects.

Participants also received theoretical and technical training on business models and learned to use the CANVAS Model to structure their social impact ideas. The proposals presented were truly innovative, with high potential to create positive change in their communities.

Workshop Closing

On the third day, participants presented their social impact projects before two panels of judges, composed of distinguished professionals: Nelbaluz Reyes, Ruth Perez, Carmen Ubarry, Dinette Rivera, Dr. Isabel Sangeun Lee, Elaysel German, and Linda Martinez. At the end of the session, participants were awarded certificates of recognition for their dedication and commitment throughout the program. To conclude on a high note, magician Frank Kennedy delivered an inspiring performance that left a lasting impression on all attendees.

MINA extends its deepest gratitude to HopeWorks Camden for generously providing its facilities, making this event possible and offering participants the ideal space to create a positive and transformative impact in their communities.

The winning participants, Destiny Nunez, Janiyah Gonzalez, and Fatina Lozier, were selected to advance to the next phase of the program, Ella Inc. – Camp, a two-week experience at Florida International University (FIU), with all expenses fully covered by Casimiro Global Foundation.
