The Coopoerativa de Ahorro y Credito Coopartamos and Fundación Compartamos have joined strategic efforts with Minorities Allied Lenders (MINA) to strengthen their shared mission of making a significant impact on Hispanic communities, especially those in the United States.
Engineer Silvia Chuquimarca, founder and general director of both Ecuadorian organizations, led the initiative during her recent visit to MINA’s facilities, where she explored collaboration opportunities to provide services aligned with the needs of their clients and communities.

During her visit, Chuquimarca solidified key relationships and evaluated new avenues for cooperation, ensuring that these connections will benefit the communities they serve. Additionally, she met with various organizations to foster relationships for future projects. One of the highlights of her visit was participating, alongside MINA’s leadership, in a networking event organized by the New Jersey Hispanic Leadership Association at the Rutgers University campus in Camden, NJ.
Chuquimarca also held meetings with Mrs. Melissa Padín, founder and executive director of The WOW Center, in Merchantville, New Jersey. Participants in this meeting included Dinette Rivera, president of Rivera Business Development, Rosalba Pabón and Jenny Santos from The WOW Center, and Belkis Shindell, co-founder and president of MINA.

The series of visits also included discussions with Mrs. Euselandia Alcantara, president of ERAS Group in New York, and a productive meeting with Carlos Merino, founder and executive director of the New Jersey Innovation and Technology Alliance, accompanied by Sean M. Brown, MINA’s compliance director. These meetings reinforce the shared commitment to community development.
In an atmosphere of collaboration and shared vision, ties were strengthened with Ruth Pérez, founder and general director of Movimiento Tricolor, for future strategic alliances aimed at maximizing the impact on Hispanic communities.
